Biography / Freeganism
Freeganism is a movement that appeared in the United States during the 1990s. It is made up of people who share an ideology: to reduce food waste and peacefully denounce consumerism.
Dumpster divers pick out and consume food that has been discarded by restaurants, supermarkets, factories and even the occasional household. By salvaging food, they reduce waste and damage to the environment. Some Freeganists also do their bit for the cause by offering meals to the underprivileged.
